Our next book is almost ready. You/True Maybe/Baby, poetry by Cody White, will be here before you know it. As with Muddled, we'll begin taking pre-orders a few weeks in advance of the release date. So don't blow all your cash on your Halloween costume; you will want a copy of Y/TM/B.
Another Reading!
We've got another chance for you to hear great poetry read aloud at Infuxn Vodka Bar. Wednesday July 27th we'll have Savannah Phifer and Henri Whitehead on hand to read their original works.
Savannah Phifer is a creative writing major at Missouri Southern State University from Mansfield, Missouri. Even though she is a senior, it will probably be another two years before she graduates. Savannah enjoys all forms of writing, but is currently attempting to hone in her (already pretty damn good) poetry skills.
Henri Whitehead has aspired to be the next Mark Twain ever since leaving his childhood home in rural Southwest Missouri to attend the prestigious Missouri School of Journalism at the University of Missouri in Columbia. He is a proud father of four beautiful children, and when he's not writing, he works as an English teacher for McDonald County High School, where he also coaches track and cross country. Henri's other hobbies include running, reading, writing, playing disc golf, and working on his 1971 MG Midget.

Poetry & Prose in Brown, White, and Ensor
We are super pleased to host, with Infuxn, our favorite classy cocktail bar, a reading of three terrific writers. It's only 10 days away! Join us May 26th at 7:00.
Julie Ensor (we'd love to publish her someday) will read her gritty prose, Cody White (definitely want to publish him too) will read his dreamy poetry, and Joey Brown (out of our league) will do what she does best.
Dr. Brown's work has appeared in several literary journals including Louisiana Review, The Oklahoma Review, Cybersoleil, The Mid-America Poetry Review, and San Pedro River Review. She has recently been invited to read her work at the Scissortail Creative Writing Festival, The Chikaskia Literary Festival, and the Langdon Review Literary Weekend. Her poetry collection Oklahomaography was published in 2010, and a second collection, Feral Love, will be published later this year. She’s currently working on two prose projects, one of which humorously details her attempts at home renovation. Joey teaches professional and creative writing at Missouri Southern State University. She lives in southwest Missouri with her husband, prose writer Michael Howarth, and their congenial pack of rescue dogs in their somewhat-renovated house.
National Poetry Month is Here!
We have several events planned for the month of April, including a reading on the 28th featuring our writers and friends. Give connect2culture a click for all the details. They deserve much of the credit anyway, along with Post Art Library.
Show your support for poetry in Joplin. The fun begins tomorrow!
Cheers!
Muddled, the Official Release (more or less)
Thursday February 25, Misters Porter and Whitehead will present their book, Muddled, in its entirety, at Infuӿ Vodka Bar in downtown Joplin, Missouri. Please RSVP to our even on Facebook.
The reading shouldn't last more than an hour, but it just may be nice enough you want to stay awhile longer and enjoy another round or two of specialty cocktails. We'll begin at 6:00 P.M.
530 S. Main Street, Joplin, MO 64801
Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.
Muddled is here!
Our first publication is here, and we couldn't be happier. We hope you're happy with it too! Preorders of Muddled will be distributed in the coming days.
Check back for future developments. We've got a few ideas...
Cheers!
We're Thankful
We here at PHP would like to express our gratitude this Thanksgiving for football, family, good food and drink, and of course all of you reading this. Especially those that have pre-ordered our first book. You're so cool...
Cheers!
Baby's first book.
We're ready to start taking pre-orders for our first publication, Muddled. A chapbook of poetry by Richard Porter and Andrew D. Whitehead.
We still aren't exactly sure when the books will be printed, but it'll be soon. We're gonna say they'll be ready to ship in time for Christmas. Also, because pre-ordering is a huge help for us and we're psyched you like us well enough to be that anxious, all pre-ordered copies will be signed by the authors. So get after it. Visit the Products and Publications page to order.
Cheers!
